Ashes of Raging Water is an urban fantasy novel centered around a group of elemental phoenixes created to protect humanity from both knowledge and manipulations of creatures of faerie. As the Sidhe Courts take their petty wars into Atlanta’s streets, a deeper plot threatens the pheonixes’ Shield. The youngest of the Shield’s members struggles against a strange Sidhe alliance and the unfeeling nature of her elders. Her duty forces her into a desperate balancing act. She must find a way to protect Atlanta, defend the others of her Shield and not destroy a frowned upon relationship with the mortal love of her life in the process. 2. Is this part of a series or a standalone? Ashes of Raging Water is the first of five novels in the Blood Phoenix Chronicles. 3. What do you think are your MC's strengths? Quayla’s strength lay in her deep love for humanity and a driving desire to protect the even the smallest creatures on Earth. 4. What are their weaknesses? Her inexperience and deep love for creation combine to form poor choices. They lead her down dark paths ill-equipped to deal with the Machiavellian schemes of the far more experienced sidhe. 5. What is the central theme of your book? This story revolves around the battle between duty and personal freedom. 6. The Second Wave is the first installment in a complete Dystopian Romance series. This series takes place in futuristic modern America. The world was devastated by the Makanza virus four years ago and is now slowly recovering. Since all of the infected survivors from the First Wave are contained in the Compounds, everyone thinks they're safe from becoming infected, including Davin, our 18-year-old hero. However, when the Makanza sirens go off while Davin and his siblings are visiting their divorced father on the Cheyenne River Reservation, Davin soon realizes that they're anything but safe as another viral outbreak plummets him and his family into a frightening and emotional journey. 2. Is this part of a series or a standalone? This is the first of a five-book series. The Second Wave is unique in that it's a novella whereas the four books following are all full-length novels. It's also the only book told from Davin's point of view. In the next book (Compound 26), Meghan is introduced who is our fiercely determined heroine and Davin's future love interest. All four books following The Second Wave are told from Meghan's point of view. 3. What do you think are your MC's strengths? He's incredibly resilient, loyal, and devoted to his family. The way he cares for his siblings and father is a testament to his devotion. 4. What are their weaknesses? Davin has a hard time forgiving himself for actions he regrets, and he refuses to forgive others who have wronged him. This results in intense anger and bitterness in him that is the foundation of his story arc. 5. What is the central theme of your book? The central theme is that one should never give up in what one believes in. Sometimes it takes many battles to win the war, and perseverance to reach that goal is crucial. 6. Love, danger, whatever is coming for her, they’re going to be along for a bumpy ride. 4. What are their weaknesses? Calli has lived a hard life in and out of less than perfect foster homes. She trusts no one. And she refuses to accept help no matter what—her mother’s dying wish is one she plans to keep. But with danger on the horizon, the promises of her 4-year-old self are going to be put to the test. Survival 101 may be her motto, but staying alive one her own isn’t going to cut it this time... 5. 17-year-old Eden can't remember the first 12 years of her life. Not a single thing. Well, maybe one thing... the deep aqua eyes of her childhood bestie, Kai. You can imagine her shock when he shows up at her house, all grown up and with no memory of his own. Together they begin an adventure to discover their past and who they really are. But what they find isn't what they were expecting. I'll let you in on a spoiler... they're angels and their kind is under some major fire and it's up to Eden and Kai to save them. If only they could remember who they were.... 2. Is this part of a series or a standalone? The book is a standalone, but who knows with these things. An idea has already sparked for it's sequel. So, I'll probably have to go where the muse leads me. 3. What do you think are your MC's strengths? She's a fierce activist for those less fortunate than her. She's tough yet innocent at the same time. She's humble and self sacrificing, by always putting other's needs first. She's a little bit "cool", a little bit "grunge" and a little bit "protector". Oh yeah, and she's pretty darn good at telekinesis. 4. What are their weaknesses? She's guarded with her emotions and hates looking vulnerable. And sometimes mean to those she's scared to get close to. And, of course, she's pretty bad at remembering things. Sometimes, she gets a little hotheaded. 5. What is the central theme of your book? True kinship has no bounds. 6.
