Tell us a little about the book.
M&M- It’s about a group of people that find themselves in the Mayan underworld and the brutality that ensues. We were brainstorming ideas for a novel and got to talking about how some people think the Mayans could have migrated to the southern states of America. We thought it was an interesting premise so we started to research the Mayans and their beliefs and came upon their version of hell and the beings that inhabited it and decided we would write a story involving Xibalba, the underworld, and its lord of death. How does it feel to have your book published? M&M- It feels like a crazy dream; it’s fantastic. We love writing and to have our first novel finally being published is just amazing. Sinister Grin Press has been really wonderful every step of the way too, from the editing process to keeping us informed on how the artwork was coming along, we couldn’t have asked for anything more from a publisher. Who is your favorite character form the book? M&M- We really loved Wes and Alissa but we had to put them through a lot to convey the brutality we thought a person would experience in Xibalba. They are both brave, good hearted, and slightly nerdy which we identified with. Are there more books planned in the series? M&M- We were talking about a possible prequel to it and who knows maybe a sequel as well down the line after we’ve completed a few projects. What does the future hold for you? M&M- We are working on a horror novella, a horror novel, and also a sci-fi novel. There will be a handful of short story releases from us this year. We are definitely keeping very busy and it feels great!  Fallon is just like every other Arrival brought to Harrizel—an alien planet restoring the human race after a fatal war left Earth in ruins. When not writing, C.G.Coppola can be found watching The Walking Dead, playing with her dog, Appa, or trying not to mess up a recipe she found on Pintrest.  1. Tell us a little about your book
The Guardians: Forest of Ancestors is based on a male witch called Eli, his friends Fionn, Eion, Mica and Tomas, as well as his obnoxious familiar Parker. Eli has had a lot to deal with in his twenty something years that most would find difficult to cope with. After the breakup of his relationship with Nora, he throws himself into battling D’thseh, entities that feed on the misery and pain they inflict on humans. Odd little things begin to happen and without giving any spoilers, Eli and the guys must face an old foe of their coven as well as continue the fight against the creatures that inflict suffering on mankind. 2. How does it feel to have your first book published? All I can say is WOW. It’s amazing. Before I began to write it, I did a lot of research into which way I could publish. There was the traditional way and the Self-Publish route. After much research I decided that Self-Publishing was the best course for me. It has been a heck of an experience and one I have enjoyed immensely, regardless of how stressful it has been at times. It was all worth it to know that some of the people and one of the stories that have been floating about in my head have now been immortalised on paper and that others can enjoy them as much as me. 3. Who is your favourite character in the book? I was going to try and lie and say they all are, but that’s exactly what it would be, a lie. I completely adore Eli, he has had to deal with so much loss and hurt in his life that for him to still be functional let alone the man he is, is amazing. He has this amazing relationship with his friends that without it he would be lost. They are his non blood family. His relationship and interactions with his familiar Parker always made me laugh when I was writing them. Eli is my guy… For now, Fionn will no doubt be looking to take that title. 4. Are there more books planned in the series? I am happy to say that yes, I have a few more planned in this series and as a matter of fact I have already begun to outline book two. It will be based on one of the other guys, his friend Fionn. The working title at the moment is The Guardians: Land of Shadows and we will get a glimpse into his head and how he sees the world differently to Eli. 5. What does the future hold for you? I am currently 36,000 words in on The Grimoire Prophecies, which I actually started before Eli’s book, but I had hit writer's block. I have outlined it fully and hope to have that finished and ready to publish Fall 2016. After that the outline has already done for the second book in The Guardians series, I will launch straight into that and we shall see where the key strikes take me.
