Ashes of Raging Water is an urban fantasy novel centered around a group of elemental phoenixes created to protect humanity from both knowledge and manipulations of creatures of faerie. As the Sidhe Courts take their petty wars into Atlanta’s streets, a deeper plot threatens the pheonixes’ Shield. The youngest of the Shield’s members struggles against a strange Sidhe alliance and the unfeeling nature of her elders. Her duty forces her into a desperate balancing act. She must find a way to protect Atlanta, defend the others of her Shield and not destroy a frowned upon relationship with the mortal love of her life in the process.

Ashes of Raging Water is the first of five novels in the Blood Phoenix Chronicles.

3. What do you think are your MC's strengths?

Quayla’s strength lay in her deep love for humanity and a driving desire to protect the even the smallest creatures on Earth.

4. What are their weaknesses?

Her inexperience and deep love for creation combine to form poor choices. They lead her down dark paths ill-equipped to deal with the Machiavellian schemes of the far more experienced sidhe.

5. What is the central theme of your book?

This story revolves around the battle between duty and personal freedom.
