Myths & Legends came about as a way for man to find answers to questions, share messages and offer people hope and understanding. This ancient form of storytelling would have been carried down verbally through the generations and it would become a part of their culture and history - much in the way we are told fairytales as a child.
Myths however, do not always have happy endings and can be also used to serve as a warning to people. In Greek myth, for example, the story of the Trojan horse showed people that you should be wary of an enemy offering gifts. This would be a particular myth that a lot of people know, even on the other side of the world. It continues to exist because the message is a good one. Our authors featured during this month have all taken inspiration from myths and legends and incorporated them into their stories. Some are modern day retellings, others contain elements from different stories. You will be able to read interviews, excerpts and short stories from them and you will be able to purchase their books to with links to seller sites. We hope you enjoy the event. Comments are closed.
