Halloween originated in Ireland with the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain. It is said to be the night when the veil between worlds is thinnest and it is possible to communicate with the dead.
In order to protect from any evil spirits, people would carve faces into turnips and place a candle inside. Later, this was changed to pumpkins.
Nowadays, it is a day to dress up in a costume, trick or treat for candy and have parties. How do you spend Halloween?
