1) Tell us about your book
Under Fire is the first book in the series and features an amnesiac dragon shifter and the vampire who saved her life. She wakes up in a graveyard with no memory of her life and Victor, the vampire, feeds her his blood to save her life. But can she trust him? 2) Do your vampires have any special abilities? They can walk in the sun, but not for very long as it does hurt and weaken them. He is fast and his blood can heal people. 3) Vampires vs werewolves – who would win and why? I think that werewolves have the brute strength and the big teeth, so probably them. 4) Who is your favorite vampire on TV or in books? Ooh that's a hard one. I think the vampire that I like the most is Angel from Buffy. I loved that show and it was a very interesting take on vampires at the time. Although I do love Spike too. 5) Tell us what is next for you as an author I am working on a new series called Grimm Descendant which features a magical library. There will be six books in the series. It is going to be a lot of fun to write because it will deal with fairytales and the world of books. Two of my favorite subjects.

1) Tell us about your book I write the venomous vampire series ALMOST HUMAN. The series is being written as 4 trilogies – there are currently 8 books published and book 9 will be out early next year! https://amzn.to/3RiXHIW https://amzn.to/4bPqWLI 2) Do your vampires have any special abilities? My vampires wield an addictive narcotic venom in their bite, which territorially marks their victims, and gives them a heightened perception of the vampire who marked them, along with other urges… The vampire breed wars wiped out most of the elders, and the talent unique to each breed has become lost knowledge. However, claims of telepathy, mind-control, heightened speed and strength, levitation, weather manipulation, the ability to transform into mist, and to take the shape of a bat or a wolf are now impossible to ignore; especially when the vampire blood of all breeds is united in one woman destined to rule them all. 3) Vampires vs werewolves – who would win and why? This question arises in my 3rd trilogy. In the past, vampires enslaved werewolves with their narcotic venom, but times have changed. Wars between vampires had almost wiped out the undead, and when vampires withered and struggled to survive, werewolves thrived. The vampires are poised to rise again with the emergence of their new queen, but the werewolves would like to hang them with the leashes they once wore. Who will win? I guess you’ll have to read it and see 4) Who is your favorite vampire on TV or in books? Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles was an early love of mine – it was the first time I saw vampires represented as feeling beings with a perspective I could empathize with, and it was a great inspiration to me. After my first trilogy began to gain some notice, Anne actually approached me on an Amazon chat thread. I was invited to meet her at The Vampire Lestat Masquerade Ball in New Orleans and to do my own book signing there during UnDeadCon. It was a great honor to tell her what her writing has meant to me! My favorite vampire on TV (although there are a few) has to be Spike, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not only was he a fun, sexy, vicious vampire, his character arc was amazing. He was played with admirable depth of feeling. I was thrilled to do a book signing right next to James Marsters at NYComicCon (although I might have done more fan-girling than signing, LOL) and spend some time with him behind the curtain during breaks. He was very sweet and supportive! 5) Tell us what is next for you as an author. I am about half done writing book 9 for my series – with one more trilogy outlined and some spin-offs in mind. I am also currently narrating the entire series for audiobook! It is very exciting, as I have acting experience and have always wanted to bring these characters to life with my own voice. It’s a bit ambitious, but I’d like to have all the current books out on audible by Christmas. I am the author of the venomous vampire series ALMOST HUMAN, a happily married mom of 2 sons, and I hold a Teaching Degree, and a Master's in Library and Information Science. Originally from Long Island, I now live with my family on a peaceful mountaintop in the forest of upstate New York. I’ve always had a vivid imagination, a fascination for the paranormal and for making up stories. Acting and singing are loves of mine as well. However, upon conceiving the idea for my ALMOST HUMAN series in 2003, I discovered a previously unknown passion for writing! Now I put my over-active imagination to good use, creating characters I love, and I get to play all of the parts!

This is a dark fantasy Peter Pan retelling featuring vampires. Darcy runs away when her father tries to marry her off, boarding a ship. When it goes down, she is washed up on a strange island. She soon finds that she is not the only one on the island and the inhabitants are hungry. 2) Do your vampires have any special abilities? While it is daylight on the island, there is no direct sunlight so they are moving around freely. They are tied to the island and cannot leave unless the captain allows them too. New vampires do not have to be bitten to turn, they can be turned by stepping onto the captain's ship - as they are now damned. 3) Vampires vs werewolves – who would win and why? I think vampires are fast so they could probably kill a werewolf faster than it could react. But if a werewolf caught a vampire off guard, it could do a lot of damage. 4) Who is your favorite vampire on TV or in books? He wasn't one for long, but Doc Holliday in Wynonna Earp. It was an interesting storyline, but I felt like the cancellation knocked it off course. 5) Tell us what is next for you as an author I am working on a new series featuring a sorceress with incredibly bad luck thanks to a curse. She has a demon tethered to her who keeps her alive. I hope to get the first book out in a few months time. 1) Tell us about your book A Rhapsody of Rapiers takes place during the Anglo-Spanish War, mostly throughout the Mediterranean. The story starts with Elyes Jaouhari joining his brother as a privateer working under the English. In exchange, they’re offered money and free movement after the War. Except Elyes’ ship is attacked by monsters that kill almost everybody. The survivors have become those very monsters themselves. Elyes has to figure out how to survive in a time before vampire stories were popular, with no idea what he is and a war still going on. This novella is the first in a series of historic vampire origin stories that span the globe and take place from the 1600s to WWI. 2) Do your vampires have any special abilities? Generally speaking, my vampires are pretty animalistic, with super speed and strength, and heightened senses. They’re very charismatic, though they definitely can come across as unsettling. Some of them also have abilities that carried over from their human lives, like being able to stay in the same position for hours or move silently. 3) Vampires vs werewolves – who would win and why In a straight, head-to-head fight, I think vampires would win. Obviously depends on your lore, but werewolves are pretty much just bigger, stronger wolves. Vampires are faster and stronger, and are also apex predators. I also think a vampire would have an easier time killing a werewolf in general. Werewolves might have an advantage during the day, but they’re still pretty much just people outside the full moon, with maybe some better senses. 4) Who is your favorite vampire on TV or in books? One of the first vampire books I read other than Twilight was Blackwood Farm by Anne Rice. I used it as my English class book for the year, so I spent a lot of time analyzing the characters in that one. (The next year I did Vlad: The Last Confession with the same teacher, and she had a couple concerns.) I’m always going to have a soft spot for Tarquin Blackwood. For werewolves, I think my favourite is Josh from Being Human (US and UK version). I’m a sucker for monsters who are actually marshmallows inside. 5) Tell us what is next for you as an author The first thing is the release of the Heavy Metal Blood box set, which contains four vampire origin novellas and four brand new short stories, coming August 27th. After that, I have a few things I’m working on, including an urban fantasy short story collection and book 4 in a series about heavy metal musicians who double as vampire hunters called Heavy Metal Hunters.
